Marc is an attorney who focuses on business and commercial litigation. Previously, he worked as a civil rights attorney specializing in education and related social justice issues. He earned his law degree from the Howard University School of Law in 2002.
Marc has a long history of involvement in local and national politics. He interned in the Clinton White House during President Clinton's second term. Follwing law school, Marc served as senior counsel and press secretary to an outspoken Democratic Member of Congress -- Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, D-TX. While serving on Capitol Hill, Marc's major roles included advising the Congresswoman on her active and vocal opposition to the Bush administration's plans to go to war in Iraq, as well as helping to secure final passage of the Help America Vote Act. Later, Marc also worked in local government,
serving as general counsel to the Washington,
D.C. City Council's Committee on Government Operations.
The first African-American ever elected to the Haledon Council, Marc chairs the Ordinance Committee as well as the Health & Human Services
Committee. |
