The Department of Public Works (973-595-7766) is under the direction of Angelo Passafaro, Superintendent. It is responsible for the maintenance of all local roads, parks, right-of-ways, and water lines. Haledon has approximately 21 miles of roads. The department provides curbside collection of garbage and recyclables. Also, there is a drive-thru Recycling Center located at 510 Belmont Avenue, which is open everyday Mon., Tues., Thurs., Fri.,from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Wed. 8 – 7 p.m. and Sat. 8 – 3 p.m.
